I have officially become “that” mom… Why do I say that? You see, that cute little girl is my daughter Lola, in her element! Doing her thing. Lola earned the name Sassy from a very young age, and it has stuck with her for seven years. This little ball of fun never meets a stranger and always has a smile on her adorable face. Like many little girls, Lola loves to dress up and the fancier, the better.
When I knew her birthday was coming up, and this set was announced, I knew we had to have it! While Lola doesn’t really understand the Breakfast at Tiffany’s reference, she does understand fancy hair, shoes, gloves, and a dress.
Last summer our family took a vacation to several places in France. Paris was the first stop on this adventure…our kids had been dying to go since we moved to Europe. As expected, they loved every minute of it. On the second morning, we woke up a little early, got Lola all dolled up, and walked the Champs Eleysee to Tiffany’s. It couldn’t get any better, right? Cute little girl, posing away for her mom next to Tiffany’s! Oh, but it did get better! As we were shooting, many Parisians walked by commenting on Lola and how pretty she looked. She was in heaven at this point. As we were finishing up, a woman in a black suit walked up to us and stated how amazing Lola looked. After Lola said thank you, the lady asked if Lola wanted to come inside the store and look around. (cue the mouth drop) We had zero intention of going INTO the store at any point that day…but when your little girl is invited in, you go in! Lola was dumbfounded but gladly followed the nice woman inside. The store was gorgeous as was expected.
They gave Lola the royal treatment! They showed her around every single floor, let her gawk at all of the shiny jewelry, and even gifted her and her brother some coloring supplies…complete with the Tiffany Blue box. (swoon)
As we changed floors of the store, there she was…Audrey Hepburn…on the wall, dressed identically to Lola. It was the best moment when she realized who she was supposed to be mimicking.
After many trips around the store, our little Sassy left with her very own Tiffany blue bag with the perfect necklace in it for a birthday girl. Sadly, this mama left empty handed…I knew better than to expect my husband to buy what I wanted in that store. Ha!
I really hope that through these images, Lola (and her Daddy and I) will never forget her day at Tiffany’s.
I love my Taterbug
