Take a minute and think back…you’re eighteen years old and a senior…life is amazing, high school is ALMOST over, you’re so close to “freedom” you can taste it…it was some of the best days spent dreaming of all that was to come. When Emma’s mom, Sasha, reached out to me about photographing her senior session I was so excited! Fall is one of my favorite times of the year and both Sasha and Emma wanted fall colors incorporated into her session.
I was so happy that Emma was down for just about anything I threw at her when it came to where to sit/stand/jump/etc. I love when seniors are adventurous and go with the flow. Plus, the locations she chose were just perfect!
Something else to note that I love about senior sessions…watching the teen choose their outfits that represent their personalities. When any person can have input, or full control on their clothing…everything shifts. Pride steps in and their posture changes immediately when they love what they’re wearing.
The senior season is such a precious time for both the student and the parents. On one hand, the student is prepped and ready to jump out of the nest head first…and on the other hand, the parent is holding onto their child with every fiber of their being. Part of me thinks I’ll be the parent locking the door from the wrong side so my kids can’t leave me. Ha!
Moms have such a hard job! We nurture and keep this little tiny being alive for years…then as they grow up, we’re just supposed to magically be ok with them doing what we wanted them to do all along? It’s just madness.
I thoroughly enjoy capturing this season of life for my senior clients! Here’s to the Class of 2024.
